Try visiting Micosoft.com The purpose of this web page is to try and locate all 250 or so F5000 racecars that are out there somewhere. F5000 racing was a serious fun form of motor sport that was intended in the late 60's early 70's to be a cheaper and more friendly alternative to F1. F1 has grown in strength and popularity in leaps and bounds, F5000 racing on the other hand has declined almost to the point of extinction. In the UK there have been occasional races over the past few years arranged by the F5000 Association and this year by The Force. Grids are however sadly lacking and it would be so much more fun if we could raise the numbers and thus the profile. In America I understand that the F5000's race in Formula Libre, having insufficient numbers to justify stand-alone races. F5000s still race down under in both Australia and New Zealand but again I understand that they are only a class within a mixed single seater race. This site is being done for fun, and I should be only too pleased to receive photos and comments from all and any owners, drivers, enthusiasts etc. So come on people give me a hand by e-mailing me photos, race venues, results, whatever, anything relating to F5000. In exchange if I can help with information on a confidential basis I will. Contact: info@F5000-Register.com PS Just for the record I drive an McLaren M18, very unsuccessfully. |
